The Verdes– A Place Like No Other

The Verdes are three of Arizona’s premier member-owned golf communities offering both vacation packages and home ownership opportunities. The only master-planned adult golf communities in the Northeast Valley, The Verdes – Rio Verde, Tonto Verde and Vista Verde - are only 8 miles north of Fountain Hills and 7 miles east of Scottsdale. Nestled northeast of the McDowell Mountains on a gentle west to east slope of the Sonoran Desert, the Verdes are surrounded by nature.

A magnificent panorama beckons to the east and north – Tonto National Forest. Three million acres of awe-inspiring majesty, encompassing the beauty of the Mazatzal Mountain range and one of the last great wilderness areas to be treasured for generations. To the west, the unbridled beauty of the McDowell Mountains, and to the south magnificent views of the legendary Superstition Mountains and infamous Lost Dutchman Gold Mine.

This amazing Sonoran Desert setting is home to an abundance of wildlife. Sitting on your patio at night you’ll hear the haunting howl of the coyote or you may see families of javelina wandering across a fairway. You may even see an occasional bobcat, mule deer or black bear straying out of the National Forest. This living, thriving desert is home to Quail, White-Winged Dove, Roadrunners, Cactus Wrens, Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, Harris Hawks and Blue Heron.

One by one … The Verdes

Rio Verde, the first of the Verdes trilogy, features two traditional, parkland-style championship golf courses, White Wing and the recently redesigned Tom Lehman course, Quail Run. The 735-acre, low-density community features custom homes and charming villas overlooking perfectly manicured fairways. A contemporary 27,000 square foot clubhouse features acclaimed cuisine in a choice of formal and casual settings. The newly remodeled community center houses a state of the art exercise facility, library and craft rooms. Two heated pools, one of which features a large lap area and spa, and are open to guests year round.

Tonto Verde, the second community of the trilogy, features two-championship golf courses, The Peaks and The Ranch. David Graham and Gary Panks designed these desert transition style courses to be challenging for the more experienced golfer or simply enjoyable for the less experienced golfer. The 26,000 square foot clubhouse was awarded with the Gold Nugget Award for design as “Best in the West” for a public/private recreational facility. Two dining rooms offer distinct dining choices. Also located in the clubhouse is an exercise facility, library and golf shop. The heated outdoor pool includes a lap area, spa and waterfall feature. Not to be missed is the 18 hole putting course, which wraps in and around lakes and waterfalls.

Vista Verde, the third community in the trilogy, recently opened 18 holes of the planned 27-hole championship golf course. This challenging desert transition style course was designed by Ken Kavanaugh and provides every level of golfer an enjoyable golfing experience. The clubhouse is currently in the process of being designed, but promises to be extraordinary. Home sites are currently being sold and models will be open soon.

We have rental properties located in both Rio Verde and Tonto Verde that range in size from a 1300 square foot townhome to a 3000 square foot freestanding home.
